On February 18, the first meeting of the College Party Committee's Theoretical Study Center Group in 2025, and the pre-meeting study and discussion session for the 2024 annual democratic life meeting, were held. Sun Zhu, the Party Secretary of the Private Higher Education Institutions in Guizhou Province (Education Department of the Provincial Party Committee), attended the meeting for guidance. The College Party Secretary, Chen Longbin, hosted and gave a speech. All school leaders, department heads, and Party branch secretaries attended the meeting. Prior to the meeting, a personal self-study session was arranged, during which everyone earnestly studied the Regulations on Disciplinary Sanctions of the Communist Party of China, the Several Regulations of the Central Political Bureau on Strengthening the Centralized and Unified Leadership of the Communist Party of China, and the spirit of the National Education Conference and the Provincial Education Conference. At the meeting, Bai Zongxin, a Party Committee member and vice president of the college, conveyed the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the Central Political Bureau's democratic life meeting. Dai Dezhu, the Party Committee Deputy Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary, conveyed the communiqué of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China. Chen Longbin made a keynote speech titled "Strengthening Party Leadership and Truly Laying the Foundation for Education." He stated that the National and Guizhou Provincial Education Conferences have put forward new and high-standard requirements for Party-building work in the education sector, highlighting the key role of Party leadership in education. He emphasized the need to deeply integrate Party building into all aspects of education work—from enrollment to talent cultivation, from teaching and research to campus cultural construction—to ensure the steady development of education under the strong leadership of the Party. Standing at a new starting point, he called for further deepening Party leadership, seizing new opportunities for educational development, and promoting high-quality development of the college's educational cause. The core focus would be strengthening political Party-building, innovating Party work methods, and strengthening talent cultivation to advance high-quality educational development and contribute to cultivating new generations with a sense of national rejuvenation. Members of the Party Committee discussed the theme and shared their thoughts, further unifying their views and deepening their understanding. Shi Hongmin, head of the Basic Courses Department, and Liu Wuyang, director of the Property Management Center, made exchange speeches, closely aligning with the theme of the discussion. They expressed their commitment to deeply implementing the spirit of the Provincial Education Conference, taking responsibility with a sense of mission, urgency, and a spirit of innovation and unity to continue their efforts. Finally, Sun Zhu, Party Secretary of the Private Higher Education Institutions of Guizhou Province (Education Department of the Provincial Party Committee), commented on the learning session and offered suggestions for improving and strengthening the theoretical study center group. Sun Zhu first acknowledged the meticulous organization and thorough preparation of the session and emphasized that all Party members and cadres must firmly establish political awareness, a sense of the overall situation, core awareness, and alignment consciousness. They must consciously stay highly consistent with the Party Central Committee in terms of thought, politics, and actions. Sun Zhu stressed the importance of continually strengthening the Party's innovative theory and promoting political theory learning for Party committee members, faculty, staff, and all Party members to truly understand, believe in, and apply the Party’s principles. Furthermore, she emphasized the need for continuous Party discipline learning, encouraging ongoing education on Party discipline, and striving for in-depth and effective learning. Lastly, she urged the Party Committee members to continue adhering to the core concept of Party leadership in education and to push forward the high-quality development of the educational cause, making contributions to the development of education in Guizhou.
